Artist/photographer/filmmaker Helen Tak is a Swedish artist who works mainly with photography, video and sound. She is interested in the supernatural/occult, human fears, weird behaviours and manias in a very wide sense. Her artwork deals with both the real and the imaginary and ranges in form from documentary to narrative and experimental. Her process begins when her imagination is triggered by a particular momentary experience; whether that is in a film, a news article, a meeting with a person, a phrase or a song; it is the fragments and in-between moments that hold the most possibilities. Her latest work involves such themes as the threat from the unknown and the dark side of human nature.
